Texas Association of Teacher Educators (TxATE) serves as a major voice in the promotion of teacher education goals and ideals in Texas. It is the only Texas organization for individual teacher educators that is affiliated with a national association. Membership includes college faculty and administrators, school and regional service staff developers, school-based teacher educators, classroom teachers, and school administrators. Membership is open to those professionals who are concerned with improving the education of teachers. TxATE provides a forum for issues in teacher education and has worked for improved teacher centers, preservice preparation, teacher certification, as well as state and national education programs.

The Texas Association for Teacher Educators invites professional teacher educators and/or doctoral students to submit a proposal for presenting a paper or article as a part of the summer TxATE conference.
Presentations should address issues related to one of the following topics:
- Best practices in Teacher Preparation
- Alternative Certification
- Field-Based Learning
- Educator Preparation Advocacy
- Accountability and Certification
- Innovative Programs In Teacher Preparation
- Trends and Issues: P-16 Initiatives, Co-operating Teachers, College Readiness…
If you wish to present at the TxATE summer conference, please complete a proposal as per the instructions found in the Call for Proposals below. All presenters must be TxATE members. Membership dues can be paid at the summer conference.

The Texas Forum of Teacher Education
The Texas Association of Teacher Educators’ (TxATE’s) Forum, a publication of the Texas Association of Teacher Educators, is a refereed journal published each fall. Articles in the journal are directed to both campus-based and field-based Texas teacher educators. Views expressed in the articles are not necessarily those of the editors or of the Texas Association of Teacher Educators.
